Cap

Blue Tri-, D.O.B. 19-12-93, B.C.eyes clear This is Cap, he is the oldest of our dogs (12yrs) Cap is now retired as his back legs keep giving way, the only fair way for his health. We were actively looking for a Border collie and had about four litters to view. Firstly we visited the Bridacre litter in Meacham, Leicestershire; they were about four weeks old. There were two bitches and two dogs to choose from, we instantly took a liking to the blue tri male with the half white face, and as these were bred for breed, his half white face pups couldn’t be shown as this is not accepted in the show ring. So we were offered this gorgeous little chap. We told the breeder we had more litters to look at and we would get back in touch as soon as we had made our minds up. We travelled all over the country looking at the next few litters, but all we could concentrate on was this very handsome blue tri pup we had seen earlier, We made a few inquiries about the Bridacre line and finally made our minds up about him. We paid our deposit and picked him up two weeks later. Cap was a very confident and outgoing boy and very quick to learn. After all his injections we started obedience training with him, which he enjoyed very much. At about six months old, Cap became a very strong pup and always’ thought he was in control and knew better than me, so slightly firmer handling was required. And it worked, he grew into a better and more consistent dog. Now the fun started, and we started agility classes. Boy, was this boy excited, he loved every minute of it. |

Cap semi retired from agility at 10 years old as he was struggling at full height jumps. He competed At veterans and any size jumping until the end of 2005, that’s when we finally decided his back legs where getting weaker as he kept collapsing the day after competing. So now he enjoys his retirement in comfort being a couch potato, but still very playful and active at 12 yrs old. |
