Charlie and Tyler after
winning
"The Dogs in Need Senior Classic
Final" 2001

We occasional competed in Obedience,
never successful I’m afraid, and whilst there we were told to go and have
a look at these two very nice red/white pups that were for sale. We had
always’ liked red/whites but never had one. A friend of ours knew the breeder
and said they were from very good obedience/working trials lines. As we
had no money or cheque book with us, there was nothing we could do about
purchasing one of these pups. So off we went to see the two pups.
Well we fell in love with the one with lots of white but as I said we had
no money with us. We talked about the pup, and our friend, Janet Watson,
said she had her cheque book with her, and if we wanted, she would buy
the pup for us, if we really wanted him. We talked long and hard, then
decided yes would go and buy him. But when we eventually found the breeder,
there was only one pup available. He had a bent tail but very cute never
the less. So we chatted to Joan Kent about the pups tail
and she said we could have him a bit cheaper if we wanted too. As he wasn’t
our original choice, we were undecided what to do, so off again we went
for a chat and decided yes we would have him for £100. What a bargain
he turned out to be. his obedience was brilliant, and someone who knew
what they were doing, could have made him into a great obedience dog, but
alas he was destined for agility.

He learnt things very quickly but
was very steady. We went clear in our first ever runs but sadly out of
the places. I trained and trained him but he never got any faster, until
one day Charlie asked if he could have a run with him. Well from
that moment on Tyler changed and boy did he change, they went from
strength to strength and finally started to get higher places until that
first win. Then another win taking then into seniors. The partnership grew
and grew, the placings got better and better. Their best achievement was
at Dogs in Need. Winning the senior final in 2001. Not satisfied
with that, winning into Advanced, and
qualifying for Olympia all within the space of three weeks. Tyler
has been a very successful agility and BFA/ Crufts flyball dog. He is
Charlie’s best ever agility dog, and what’s more, his best ever friend.
Tyler update.
At Dashing Dogs Charlie and Tyler
still
have what it takes.
Lots of good places including a 3rd in
Advanced jumping.
Can't imagine Tyler ever retiring
even though he will be 10
years
old in September,
Charlie and Tyler are a true partnership
together.
Wilmslow.
Tyler had 3 runs and three clears,
placed in two
What a good dog he is for his Dad Charlie.

We can’t imagine life with out him. He
is so quiet and good around the house, you don’t know he is there. He is
always ready to play and never grumpy. Sometimes he is just like a puppy
and runs around being very happy, then other times he just lays down by
your side and doesn’t move. Tyler is a dog in a million and a great
big cuddle monster and is never happier than lying upside down being tickled
on his tummy. His pet hates are having his nails clipped and grooming,
and hides from you when he see’s the grooming box and clippers. Charlie
loves running his very lovable and reliable boy.
Tyler's favorite sleeping place when a tiny pup.
